I'll dominate 'credible fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to build hype for next month's boxing match.

Ex twice world boxing king Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of these statements, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK rival Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

Still, the novice is still one of the sport's greatest financial successes, consistently making huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in round four or five and stated he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the customary confrontation, with their size difference clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is actually going ahead.
